In my Identity Design Studio class, we were tasked with redesigning a college sports mascot. I was assigned University of Kansas, so I redesigned the Jayhawk. It bothered me that the “Jayhawk” is not a real bird, and the current Jayhawk resembles neither a jay nor a hawk, so I tried to combine them in a way that paid tribute to both.
